Margarida Macieira, a Portuguese dance artist, educator, Gaga teacher, and event producer, currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. Her career has spanned multiple cities, including London, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, and Vancouver.
Margarida began her artistic journey at the Academia de Dança Contemporânea de Setúbal. In 2017, she graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School. In 2019, Margarida pursued certification in Gaga Teacher Training in Tel Aviv, Israel, under the tutelage of Ohad Naharin, Bosmat Nossan, and Saar Harari.
In 2021, driven by her passion for education, Margarida pursued a Master of Education degree at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, specializing in Contemplative Enquiry and Approaches in Education.
As a freelance dance artist, Margarida has performed internationally with companies such as Gil Kerer Dance Company, Jean Abreu Dance, James Cousins Company, and Company Chameleon.
Currently, she serves as the rehearsal director for Lamondance Company, EDAM Dance's General Manager, and Addo Platform's Co-director. Through the Addo Platform, Margarida has created valuable opportunities for dancers to engage in workshops, regular classes, and the presentation of their work and creative processes.
Margarida's choreographic work has involved collaborations with organizations such as ADCS, Dance Company Dancestreams, Healing Movement, Simon Fraser University, and Lamondance.
